Overview & Highlights

Le Soleil Restaurant & Bakery, nestled in the heart of Hamilton Township, NJ, offers an authentic taste of Haitian cuisine that’s hard to find outside the island itself. From the moment you step inside this charming eatery on Sculptors Way, you’re warmly welcomed by friendly staff whose genuine hospitality immediately sets a comforting and inviting atmosphere.

The menu is a celebration of Haitian culinary tradition, featuring beloved staples that customers rave about. Signature dishes like griot—fried, tender pork bursting with savory and citrusy flavors—come accompanied by perfectly cooked rice and crispy banan peze (fried plantains), complemented by a side of tangy pikliz, a spicy pickled vegetable relish that adds a brilliant punch. The rice is rich, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care, blending harmoniously with the juicy, melt-in-your-mouth meats that linger on your palate long after the last bite.

Beyond the entrées, Le Soleil’s bakery offerings are equally delightful. The freshly baked bread has earned glowing mentions from patrons who note its perfect texture and crust, especially when paired with butter and coffee—a simple pleasure done surprisingly well. Also notable are the variety of homemade drinks and fruit jams that round out the experience with vibrant authenticity.

What truly makes Le Soleil stand out is the personal touch. Longtime visitors recall the kindness of the owner and staff—a little lady with a warm smile who remembers returning guests by name, creating a quaint and intimate dining vibe that feels like a beloved neighborhood gem rather than just another restaurant.

Staff was very nice and friendly. Food was great being from Florida and joining the Army Haitian food isn't everywhere. You get my vote for greatness. I'll be back definitely.

I went here on Monday 5/18 for the first time and I felt really welcome I felt like I was in north Jersey restaurant they have all the things that I was tasting for and the service was really nice the drink the owner made was delicious sorry I could say it but can't spell it ijs it's a BIG YES for me I will definitely be back

Stopped in today with my Dad for the first time, we grabbed a loaf of bread and a couple of drinks. The bread was delicious and goes well with some butter and coffee!

I came here last year nice place good food. I again with my family a few days ago, the same little old Haitian lady remembered us, and we went all out. Ordered some good food I would recommend the fried pork (griot) and black bean sauce. Bought a bunch of patties and grapefruit jam and some homemade drinks. Very cute and quaint nice little lady will be happy to serve.

This food was so so good !!! I always order Griot with rice and banan peze. Extra pikliz and gravy on the side. I’m not gone lie it’s been a few years since I been here and coming back was everything. The rice was perfect, and full of flavor. Meat was tender it had the fried feel but so tender inside. I was in a food coma for 3 days . I don’t eat a lot so the large lasted me a few portions. I can’t wait to go back ! Get to know Haitian culture I know I did and I love it , I just love the fresh and home cooked meal. Merci becoup I have no regerts

This place has great food. If you love Haitian food, or if you've never even tried it - check it out. I usually get the rice & beans w/bean sauce, plantains with Picklee and Meat Patty but they definitely have the classic meat on the bone many ppl are looking for.
